Who are we and what do we do?

We are a group of mostly local residents who enjoy and cherish the excellent amenities of this park. We aim, where possible, to support and encourage improvements in the park.

We make donations from our funds to purchase items for the park which would otherwise not have been available from the park’s budget. Recent items provided have been bird seed, seven oak trees, fertiliser for the English Garden and plants for the wild flower area.

There is a small group of volunteers who work in the park on an ad hoc basis. We need more volunteers (who need not be members of the Friends).

We hold evening meetings at monthly intervals between September and May, except December and January, with speakers giving talks on horticultural and other allied subjects. These meetings are held in Childwall Primary School on the second Monday of the month at 7.15 pm.These dates may be modified to fit in with school term times.

We have a small plant stall at each meeting.

Visits are arranged to famous gardens and other interesting venues.

Members receive a quarterly newsletter informing them about the group's events and news about the park.
